One of the things to do in Hamilton, Ohio is celebrate the 4th of July downtown. The community has pulled together to keep this tradition alive. This year‘s celebration will be themed “Celebrating the Spirit of America”.
- Sponsored by the 4th of July Committee and the Michael J. Colligan Fund of the Hamilton Community Foundation, the day will start with the 50th Anniversary Parade at 10am. The parade route runs from the Butler County Fairgrounds, down Route 4 to High Street, and ends on Front Street, just past the Butler County Courthouse. This year’s Citizen of the Year Award receiver, Don Ryan, will be Grand Marshal. US Air Force Lieutenant General James Kowalski will be Honorary Grand Marshal.
- When the parade finishes at the courthouse, there will be a patriotic celebration with music and a speech by the Honorary Grand Marshal.
- Beginning at 3 pm around the courthouse, there will be live music and A Taste of Hamilton for you to enjoy.
- Thanks to the help from the greater Hamilton community, the day will end with a traditional fireworks show presented by the sponsor Fort Hamilton Hospital.
